Halloween Vault – Favorites & Sneak Peek Christmas Class Kit

Happy Halloween!  I hope you have a spook-tacular day!!! :)  I thought it would be fitting to share more of my all time favorite Halloween projects with you.

birthday First, I want to say thank you to everyone that wished Lily a happy birthday yesterday.  She had a wonderful day, and of course, is ready for Halloween!

Since you guys know how crazy I am about Halloween, here are some more of my all time favorite projects.

Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells boxThis is hands down my favorite Halloween project ever!  I made it in the beginning of the year (I know it wasn’t Halloween, but when the mood strikes…), and it was featured in Artful Blogging magazine’s Autumn 2014 issue.  What an honor!   It is an altered Graphic 45 box decorated with Glimmer Mist, Steampunk Spells papers, and Prima flowers and resins.

sandcastle spooky halloween houseThis is another project I LOVE!  It is made from a chipboard sandcastle book, but I thought it would be more fun to make it into a spooky haunted house book.  I love the metal embellishments and resins.  Over the years, I have been tagged on Facebook, or emailed, other artists’ versions of this project.  I love it, and love how so many have created their own Halloween themed sandcastle book works of art!!  I feel honored to have inspired you guys!

halloweentagskull-1-3Since I am an avid cardmaker, I did not want to leave out the cards category among favorites.  I made this card a few years ago, and still think it is cute as a button!

halloweentagskull-1-2 Lastly, I have a couple of super cute Halloween tags I created many years ago, and think they are adorable.  I hope you do, too.

halloweentagskull-1So, there are the rest of my favorite Halloween projects I have created over the years.  I hope you all have a spooky Halloween, and collect lots of yummy candy!

Before I go, I want to give you a sneak peek at a Christmas card class kit I am working on.  I know, it has been entirely too long since I last did a class, but teaching is calling my name.  I am so excited about this kit, and thrilled that it contains 12 cards!!!!  I tried to stick to simple yet elegant designs so you can get all of those Christmas cards knocked out in a jif!  Next week I will be giving you the complete low down about the kit & class, opening registration, and shipping kits, so be sure to come back!

Halloween Vault – Canvas ATC’s Made Into a Framed Layout

Today I have another Halloween oldie but goodie to share!  It is another favorite project I did years ago.  I created a set of canvas ATC’s using distress stains, ink, and mists.

Halloween atc set tutorial The tutorial for how to create these Maya Road canvas atc’s with a burnt edge effect can be found by clicking here.

Once I decorated my tags, I decided I really wanted to display them.  I made a layout using a sheet of 12×12 canvas that I misted with Fern Chalkboard Glimmer Mist and Medallion Chalkboard Glimmer Mist , and dripped with Pumpkin Spice Glimmer Mist.  I stamped a spiderweb in two corners, then used Halloween themed paper, flowers, zipper trim, and ribbons to create the perfect display for my tags.  Once finished, I added it to a Prima 12×12 layout frame.

Halloween Vault – Decorative Tags & Creative Cake Packaging

Hey Guys!  I have been digging into my old Halloween projects again, and came across this cute Trick or Treat tag that I made several years ago.

halloween tag It was very easy to make.  I added a large eyelet to a Ranger black tag, backed the tag with green pleated trim, and decorated with Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps, and Prima bling and flower.

halloween tag trick or treatLast week was the girls’ Fall Carnival at school.  I donated cakes for the cake walk game.  I bought a pack of mini fruit crumb cakes from Costco, and spruced them up with some creative packaging.  It was a super busy week, so I literally decided to package the cakes minutes before walking out of the door.  I wrapped them in parchment paper, taped the ends with canvas tape (freezer tape would have been better, but I only had artist supplies on hand), tied them with twine, and added a descriptive tag.  I really wish I had planned ahead, and had some Halloween tags made like this one to attach to my cakes, because that would have been the perfect touch.

Oldie but Goodie – Halloween House

Hey Guys!  As most of you probably know, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!  I think it might be because of the crazy colors that you would normally never put together, or just the spookiness of it.  Regardless of the reason, I love it!

I thought it might be fun to share some of my all time favorite Halloween projects.  So, I opened up the Halloween project vault and found some oldies but goodies.  First up is my Halloween house that I designed for Basic Grey several years ago.  I had to dig deep to find this one, but it is definitely a fav.

Gender Neutral Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!  October is always a busy month for me.  We have three birthdays to celebrate at my house-Chris, Lily, and my Dad.  Since I was old enough to hold a crayon, I have been making homemade cards for my Dad.  One year I bought him a Hallmark card, and boy was I in trouble!  I am not sure I really need to give him a gift.  I think he would be perfectly content with just a card.  So, no matter how busy my schedule is, I always try to make time to put something together for him.  Here is the quickie card I made for him this year.

birthdaycard-1-3 I have to admit, I often struggle with making a card for him because I don’t do masculine very well.  I love girlie, shabby chic, and even grunge.  However, I find making anything for a guy a challenge.  I think this card would be great for a girl or guy.

birthday cardThe cupcakes that I Stickled are my fav! I think a little sparkle adds pizzazz to almost any project.  I hope you enjoyed!  Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you soon! xx
