Hi Everyone!!! I feel energized after last night’s UStream show!! What a fun group! Thank you to everyone who joined me. If you weren’t able to make it live last night to chat with me, here’s what you missed:
If you aren’t familiar with UStream, here’s how it works. My public shows are free for everyone to watch! All you have to do is go to my UStream channel when I’m broadcasting live, or pick from the recorded videos to watch anytime http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-art-of-scrapbooking-by-melissa-samuels. Feel free to click on the “Join Crowd” button on my channel to follow me. You also have the option of purchasing the kit to do the project along with me, or watch the recording anytime you’d like to complete your projects. Here’s my store address where you’ll find a selection of UStream kits, as well as lots of other awesome products including the products that come in the kit & supplies you may need for your project (ie. adhesives, tools, etc.) http://melissasamuels.net. The kit for this project is currently sold out, but I have released another batch of pre-orders. You can go to my store and purchase the kit, and it should be shipping within the next 2 weeks (click here to pre-order).
And, because I’m so susceptible to peer pressure, I’m giving away the porfolio I made last night (along with a bag of scraps) LOL.
Here’s how you can win!
1. Leave me a comment on this post telling me what your favorite part of the show was last night. If you weren’t there live, you can watch the video I posted here.
2. Click on the “Join Crowd” button on my UStream channel to follow me. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-art-of-scrapbooking-by-melissa-samuels
The winner will be announced here on the blog on Friday, March 25th. US residents only. Sorry, but a girl has to be able to afford more paper:))
Easy, right!?!
Oh, and I almost forgot! The kits for the private Ustream show, Fantastic Folding Cards, is now in stock and shipping! If you pre-ordered you should have already received tracking notification and an email with the link and password. This show is scheduled for April 11th.

And, I wanted to share the very special package Niki sent me from the UK! Thank you, Niki! You are so talented and amazing!!! As soon as I opened the box, I ran for the camera. So these are actual pics of me opening my beautiful package! I can’t believe all of the beautiful things. I feel so spoiled!
Sheesh! Your talent runneth over! I always get so excited when I see you come over my facebook newsfeed!! I’m from Canada, so I can’t win your contest, but I just wanted to stop by and leave my appreciation for you anyways!
THe class last night was fantastic. Looking forward to the card class now that I’ve received my kit.
Holy stuff!!!! You weren’t kidding when you spoke of the awesome package, what a wonderful RAK!!!!!!!
Oh, and last night, let’s see… to pick a favorite part… well, this may sound silly, but the idea of using the bling waste as a stencil is awesome!!!
(I actually loved the entire class, can’t wait to finish up this project.)
I’m not sure what my favorite part was last night. I know that I truly enjoy watching you to gather tips and tricks. I already had purchased the kit and received the instructions. I was a little confused but once I watched the video it all came together for me.
Thanks Melissa – can’t wait for next time!
Loved the show last night!! I missed some of it putting my little one to bed but my absolute favorite part of the show (besides the actual portfolio) was learning about rub and buff. Thank you for sharing – I love learning new things!!
I was watching last nite while crafting myself so I didnt actually sign in but I loved what u made and would love the chance to win! besides loving to “craft” with someone and get great ideas for my own projects I loved listening to your thunderstorm last night as I live in Arizona and dont et them too much here! Thanks for a great show! ~Beth
Unfortunately I missed the live show last night but caught it this morning. Love your work. Loved giving me ideas about using my Rub and Buff Beautiful, beautiful work. Thank you.
Great video. I love how you did this. Love learning about the Rub and Buff.

My favorite part — I love it all, you have such a great sense of humor when we get a little off of the subject and stray towards other topics. Other parts that are wonderful are the tips that come out during the class. The portfolio was beautiful.
I love the package from Nikki, did she make that album too? Beautiful…
I’ve been MIA with your shows lately…day of the week conflict Anyway, I always catch them later cause you KNOW how much I LOVEEEE everything about you and everything you create! I could never pick just ONE thing… Oh, and the package from Nikki…I know you were very excited when you opened it. Looks like LOTS of pretty things
Totally Awesome Portfolio!! LOVE it! I’m going to go and look at all your other Ustreams now! TFS!
i enjoyed your live show last night! loved your project and it was great to have some sneak peeks of projects that are coming up in April!
I loved learning about how to use the rub andn buff. I was amazed at how great it looked and an curious how the other colors will look too! Also the class gave me the idea of making the same album with the creative memories classic disney paper for our 1st Disney cruise (just waiting on that FL resident’s deal!!) Thanks for sharing your gift with us. Angel
I was so bummed I missed the show- I always enjoy watching
I guess the most appealing to me is that you offer so many ideas and inspiration. I can’t say how many times I have picked up a way you have done something.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Tried to watch the video but it won’t come up- maybe it is busy
I feel like the prodigal crafter….I’m home What a great show! I’ve always watched the shows afterwards and have never been part of the live version. How fun to come together with other curious crafters and make such beautiful projects. I will be back!!!!
was able to watch but not leave a comment about your fabulous project, do like the butterfly theme as well
I really enjoyed the project, but the best take-away for me was learning how to use my Crop-a-dile! lol It had been sitting in the closet gathering dust…now it will be a go-to tool!
Thanks!
Thanks Melissa! I always learn so much watching your ustreams. Last nights project had me kicking myself for not buying it! I will be getting the April book project for sure! The part I liked the best was how you showed how to use my Crop a dile. I could not figure it out, now I understand the depth setting on the hole punches better! Also liked your teqnique on marking the binding with the ink, to align the journal, so it would let the book close properly! Little tricks like that help us all! Liked the rub and buff too! Thanks again!
Melissa, so proud that you took the cue to share a journal with your peeps 😉 We will all be looking forward to the scrap shares from now on as well, thanks! Loved and will make your darling project and a few of my favs were the 7 Gypsies products and your sharing to change the color of our metal with Rub ‘n Buff..had not done this nifty little trick before. Your sweet giftie from your friend is devine..thanks for showing to us. I can’t wait for the next Melissa Wowzer!! (chender)
Melissa … fabulous. Thank you so much for all the great tips. PLEASE let me know as soon as you find out where to get that hole-y piece that you stamped on. I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find it – nor do any of the clerks know what I’m talking about. It seems like I’ve seen it sold by the yard at Hobby Lobby around Homecoming time. I believe it’s used on Homecoming corsages. Please let me know. Thanks!
I really like all those little extra tips you give. Things that wouldn’t necessarily be in instructions, but are very helpful. Beautiful portfolio!
Melissa, as always your show was a delight!!! My new favorite thing is punchenella (sequin waste)… Now I want tons of it! Beautiful and artful work, chick… love the way it comes together. You make learning fun!!! Sandi
The class was great!! But my favorite part, besides hearing the rain, was the rub and buff–can’t wait to use that new technique! Thanks!
I love that you’re thinking about having giveaways for your scraps! I wasn’t able to watch the Ustream last night but I watched it tonight and I love this kit! I may have to do a pre-order. The paper is amazing. Thanks!
Hi Melissa, I enjoyed the show as usual! You’ve always got terrific techniques to share, but my favorite part of every show is how kind you are to your viewers. You take the time at the end of every show to just chat with everyone and I think that’s very sweet! I don’t participate in the chat often, but I watch your show every week. Thanks for taking the time to stream, it’s much appreciated.
Loved the album. My favorite tip you showed us was to attach the brads to the journal pieces and then glue to the inside front of the journal. Great!
OMS! Just this week, I purchased the metallic rubs; and I’ve always LOVED the punchinella! I’ve just started following your blog regularly after finding you last month…SO GLAD I DID! You have an eye for style and design; I really enjoy your artwork.
Thank you for an opportunity to win 😀 Teri “Terrific”
Love your projects but ustream is not available on iPad & my boys broke my laptop so I am out of luck with the videos for now. Can’t wait to get the “spread your wings” kit. It is beautiful. Love the portfolio! Sorry cannot see the video.
Hi Melissa, I stumbled across your page having typed in 7 Gypsies portfolio to see what I could do with a couple of them I won in a blog giveaway. Wow! I just love what you have created and have spent an extremely happy couple of hours watching your u-stream video. Now I just can’t wait for some time at the weekend to have a go at creating one for myself. Looking forward to having a watch of your other videos too – your are one extremely talented lady
THIS POST IS AWESOME, EXPECTING THE NEWEST!!!
